Meet your councillor for Wellington South

Gareth was born in Taunton, later moving back there from Ilminster when he was 11. After graduating from Nottingham Trent University in 2004, Gareth settled back in Somerset, moving to Wellington in 2016.

Gareth worked for a number of organisations, such as the Hydrographic Office, before spending 13 years with a grant-giving charity based in Taunton. Following the closure of the charity in 2025, Gareth took a career break to spend more time with his young family and to support his wife's business.

Gareth's main aims as a town councillor are to protect and improve the natural environment, improve provision of services to the town, and fight for the infrastructure improvements that the town needs as it continues to grow. Gareth feels that Wellington has a wonderful community spirit and is a great place to do business, and it is his love for the town that is his main reason for becoming a town councillor.

Gareth has two young children and one grown up one and lives with his wife Alex in the south of Wellington.
