Nick O'Donnell announced as Lib Dem candidate for Wellsprings
Meet Nick O'Donnell, Taunton Town Councillor for Wellsprings and Rowbarton, and your Liberal Democrat candidate for the Taunton Wellsprings division at the Local Elections in May 2027.
Nick lives in the middle of the division, he knows the area, facing the same issues you have and works hard to find long-lasting, practical solutions for residents.
Before being a councillor Nick was a physics teacher for 25 years here in Taunton.
Nick has been local councillor for more than three years, representing Wellsprings and Rowbarton on Taunton Town Council and Somerset Council. He was also Mayor of Taunton between 2023-2024.
Some of his recent achievements include helping to secure funds for accessible benches, tables and new goal posts for Greenway Recreational Ground - working with Lib Dem Town Councillor Rob Isaacs - Wellsprings and Rowbarton on the project. Nick is also taking a lead on the 40 Steps bridge on getting it cleaned up after having to remove inappropriate graffitied comments. Nick is working with local artists to engage local schools and the community to come up with designs to repaint the interior and make the daily walk across the bridge a pleasant experience for residents.
He has recently launched a resident survey on parking issues around the Kingston Road area of the division, and held a drop-in surgery, alongside Lib Dem Town Councillor David Northey and MP for Taunton & Wellington, Gideon Amos, and it was a great opportunity for residents to speak to Nick about a range of issues, including the recent parking survey. If you live in the Kingston Road area please do complete Nick’s resident parking survey to share your thoughts following this link: https://digitallibdems.typeform.com/to/UANMjf7X
Nick is “working closely with local authorities, schools and community groups to ensure that residents' best interests are at the heart of my work as your local Liberal Democrat councillor. I will always listen to residents and commit to supporting local projects”.
Nick has launched a resident survey for the whole division - if you haven’t already completed it, you can follow this link to have your say: https://digitallibdems.typeform.com/to/EZqlyDrT
If re-elected as your Lib Dem councillor for Wellsprings, he will continue working hard to deliver for residents.
