Corza Medical Visit

Taunton-based medical device manufacturer Corza medical held an Open Day, allowing a cross-section of people to see the transformation of the business over recent years.

Corza has driven the modernisation of Pearsalls Ltd, maintaining the historic features of the over 200-year-old building, while bringing the interior to the levels required for a 21st century medical device manufacturing facility.

This has included investment in new machinery and equipment as well as the fabric of the building itself.

Local MP Gideon Amos was among the VIP visitors attending the Open Day as well as local councillors and representatives from Somerset Council.

The day was also attended by contacts from Bridgwater & Taunton College, local recruitment agencies and suppliers.

Guests were provided with a site tour including visits to production areas and the on-site museum which is the home to artifacts going back over 150 years. An opportunity for networking completed the visit.

Mr Amos was provided with a detailed tour by James Getty, Senior Vice President & GM of Corza Medical Biomedical Textiles.

He was shown the massive changes which have taken place at the Taunton site as well as learning details of plans for the future.

The MP said afterwards: “I really enjoyed my visit and was fascinated by the history of the business and the time it has been operating in Taunton.

“We are so lucky to have a number of businesses in the constituency who, like Corza, are world leaders in their respective fields and I’m working on what more we can do to bring more inward investment to our area”.
