George Western announced as Lib Dem candidate for Monument

Meet George Western, Wellington Town Councillor for Rockwell Green, who will be standing as the Taunton & Wellington Liberal Democrats candidate for Monument Division in the May 2027 Somerset Council elections.

George sees it is a privilege to serve our community as a Wellington Town Councillor. He is passionate about continuing to stand up for local people and the issues that matter most to our area.

From protecting and improving access to local healthcare and dental services, to ensuring new housing developments come with the infrastructure and investment our communities need, George believes that local people deserve a strong voice at Somerset Council.

Over the coming months, George will be out and about listening to residents across the division, hearing concerns and working on the priorities that matter to them.
